Better Late...

Many weeks after it came to theaters, I decided to stop postponing going to watch this movie. Most of my friends had already watched it, and going with my duder was out of the question, because he can't stand Tyler Perry's movies lol.

The best choice was my friend Yeila. I remember watching other Madea movies with her and it's always a blast. This one was a little less funny than the previous ones. I actually liked the play better. Still had a good time.

Thanksgiving Recap

First things first. I(still) thank God:

- for His love, even though I don't deserve it, He's always there and NEVER fails me.
- for my parents, the greatest team He prepared to raise me.
- for my siblings, the reason I wanna be a better person.
- for the love of my life, for everything we had and will have.
- for my girls, so close that they're pretty much family.
- for all my friends, the crazy people that surround me.
- for my life, cause even when there's pain, I have people that care for me and make everything better.
- for my health.
- for my job, I am truly blessed to have it.
- for all the people around me. They were put in my life for a reason.
- for ALL His blessings, because they are new every morning, and that's a promise! I LOVE YOU, God!!!

We had our annual Thanksgiving service around 9am. The celebration was glorious, we had a blessed time. Then we went home to start cooking. Since im not the cooking type, I kept doing dishes while everyone cooked, that way we wouldn't have a mess at the end of the night. After eating so much, nobody wants to to the dishes. But anyway, here's some of our food:

Black Friday

The weather was horrible! It was so cold I couldn't feel my toes. We waited in line outside of Walmart since 12:30am to 4:00am. At the end it was worth it because I got what I wanted:

I just hope that next year, there's nothing I want so bad that I have to camp outside any store in the cold!

My first goddaughter was born a couple of hours ago. I had this little bracelet made for her, since I didn't even go to her babyshower...Anyway, after work, I'm going to the gym while her uncle gets out of work. Then we're going to go meet her. I am so excited! I already have a godson who lives in the Dominican Republic. Sadly, I haven't seen him since the summer of 2004 =/

First Theatre Experience on 2010

I've only been to the movies two times this year. First, to watch 'The Book on Eli'. We had preview tickets, which are my favorites lol. I have to admit that I wasn't too sure I was going to like the concept of the movie; I pretty much went because Denzel Washingto hasn't disappointed me before.

Long story short, I absolutely loved the movie. I've read some of the comments about it saying that there wasn't enough action, or that it was too religiously inclined. I personally think it was a beautiful story. I am a Christian and was truly happy to see the movie was about Christianity. Denzel Washington is an amazing actor, and Mila Kunis is simply adorable. I don't really know who the villain is. I didn't recognize him from any other movie. Sorry lol.

Charged up & Ready to Go

My laptop's charger was broken. I kept it a secret from a certain someone, because I didn't want him to think AND say that it happened because I let everybody borrow it. I ordered a replacement charger from ebay and it finally came in yesterday. I was so relieved to know that it wasn't the battery, only the charger.

I haven't been blogging lately, and I told myself that as soon as I got my new charger I'll be back in business. I realiez that it was only an excuse to cover for my blogging laziness. Why? simply because right now I'm posting from work, not my personal laptop. Anyway, I hope I can take this more seriously. Maybe I'll come up with some good ideas to blog about. Who knows?

I am a sad that I missed our annual Thanksgiving service at church. I was being lazy and decided to stay home that morning. I was told that the service was more than amazing. People loved it and the new songs were very catchy. But I am still thankful for so much!

Although this year has been tough on my personal life, I can't stop thanking God for my family, friends, and that special person that means so much to me...I'm thankful because I have a job that helps me provide for myself. Thankful that Im healthy. Thankful that I have goals, dreams, plans, projects, you name it. Thankful that I can help others at least a little bit. But most of all thankful for the privilege of knowing God, loving him and being loved by Him. THANK YOU LORD!!!

I've Been Lazy...

But this is a summary of my last few weeks:

Oct. 31 was my brother's birthday. It was also our friend's birthday. He lives in DR but came to spend a few months with us and give some music lessons. The original plan was to go to Dave & Busters. Here they are waiting for us to do some quick shopping at the mall. Poor babies! lol this is how bored they were for those few minutes.
We go up to D&B but then change our minds so we end up leaving and going to Friendly's (like we always do...)

Then on Nov. 3rd, it was my father's birthday. It was the middle of the week, so our mom took the whole family out to eat = ] The following Saturday, the people from church organized a surprise party for him. I bought cake, and they had a great dominican meal. See for yourself.

New Goals

It's the beginning of the month and as my favorite time of the year approaches, I wanted to accomplish a few things. There's a few personal goals that I wanted to work on = ]

Last month's goal was no burger king, mcdonald's or wendy's. Im proud to say that I was able to make it. Over 30 days without any of it! I'm going to try to repeat it this month.

November will be the month for no school lunch. I've been eating school pizza for the past few months and realized how bad it really is for me.

On a weekly basis...

I love cookies and cream ice cream. I shall be giving it up one week at a time. I can't promise anything, but I'll try my best.

Last but not least, Im sorry I have to give up chocolate. This one's a little easier than the ice cream, but still painful lol. Let's see how I do.

There's two sides to this picture. I have the 'mad' look, but I am also about to crack a smile. I didn't think of any of this when I was taking this picture. But when I saw it on my computer it made me realize something about myself.
I'm the type of person that never says no. My mom tells me I get that from my father. But even when helping out gives you a rewarding feeling, there's a difference between making yourself available to help and letting people take advantage of you. I'd say this picture reflects how I really am. When I realize Im being taken advantage of, sometimes I snap and can be very mean to people. But then I automatically feel bad about it. I might not say 'Im sorry', but I might show you I am.
There was a trending topic on twitter today that quickly made it to #1. It called my attention to see [ #urdoing2muchif ]. I posted a few statements that I could think of with the topic. There's a lot more that can be added to the list, but I decided to stop there. I didn't want to get too personal.
I keep telling myself, and my friends, that Im going to start acting b!tchy. I can definitely accomplish that, but I remind myself that God doesn't like that kind of behavior. WWJD is the hardest way to act, but obviously the most correct. I am in serious need to stop being so nice to people that don't deserve it. Last night I texted someone who has acted extremely mean to me...I told that person that I wasn't going to waste any more of our time. Let's hope I can do what I set my mind to. There's always people around you who simply don't deserve you.

Last Few Days

Saturday the whole city and their moms went to see Jay-Z and his people perform. I am proud to say that I wasn't moved by the idea, therefore didn't attempt to go to the show. I was told that it was a very good one, though. Providence, RI was really happy. But anyway, I took my sister & her friend to dinner and we had a great time = ]

Kendrix & Dalesca. He's a long time friend from DR who came to spend a couple of months here, playing piano in church and giving some lessons.

On Sunday I woke up to a great meal prepared by both my parents. They really make a great team. Church was great, too. Then we went to our friends' house to watch a movie and eat snacks and stuff.

Their oldest son was imitating MJ & besides the fact that he was really funny, I noticed he's really good at it. The middle child served as dj, and the youngest watched and learned. I mean REALLY learned because he can do almost everything his brothers do lol.

Last night we went to church, then I went to the movies with some friends.

The food was really nice and (call me lame, but) since I'm a 'movie club member' the clerk swiped my card and I got this. Yayy!

We watched SAW VI. IT was very interesting, but very bloody. What else is there to be expected from those type of movies, right? I guess there will be another one next year lol.

Last night my friends and I went to have dinner on Federal Hill. Once again, we ate at Chef Ho's. Before we got there, we passed by a weird store, which name I don't remember. But we saw this:

This little things taste kind of weird but they make you keep going for more lol.

I never finish my plate, but the food is delicious. I always order double rice, because I don't eat eggrolls. The boneless spare ribs are to die for. Marco is always a gentleman and didn't allow us to pay for ANYTHING! Thank you (K)!

After dinner we went to my house to relax. Then we went to Roskaty's house and stayed there until later. We had a snack and watched Spanish television lol. There's always the 'men' topic, too.

He Looks Crazy To Me

As (I believe) the Kanye West-Taylor Swift storm is dying down, someone made a good point about the VMA's. People have completely ignored that Jack Black prayed to the devil. I mentioned it on yesterday's post, but it's true, I didn't make a big deal out of it as I did about West's stupidity. I did some research and here's one of the many links I found. Although Jack Black is not funny at all to me, it really is upsetting. It's very offensive to Christians and anybody else who feels this was unnecessary. He's a fool who usually gets away with everything. I guess he needs more publicity because of that stupid video game he came up with. I really hope it is as dry as his jokes and has no success whatsoever. Just saying.

Let's Talk VMA's

So I was at home with my sister, minding my own business and blogging about food (ha!) and not watching the show that pretty much everybody I know was witnessing. Then I get a message saying that Kanye had already started acting up. The first thing that came to my mind was that he lost an award and made a crying scene. When my friend explains to me what happened I realized that I had to tune in.

"Kanye has a lot of growing up to do... @taylorswift13 you're more than amazing!!!" I started my journey twittering (or tweeting?) about Kanye Jerk...I can't even begin to understand what pushed him to do this. Nobody asked him what he thinks, and seriously Beyonce's 'Single Ladies' is not a oh-my-gosh! type video. It's just her on her uniform, and other girls dancing. And how embarrassed she felt when Idiot West started praising her. What was he after?

I was glad to learn that he got kicked out of the show, but that wasn't enough. He should be banned from shows to come! Maybe we can start a petition? lol. I will not listen to his music ever again!! Not that i was his biggest fan, but I always stated how talented he seemed to me. Anyway, he's just a very ignorant attention-craving imbecile. This 'heart-felt apology' he posted on his blog proves it. And here's what Pink had to say about it: "Kanye west is the biggest piece of shit on earth. Quote me."

Swift won me over!!! I was never a fan of hers until last night! My new hero lol. She sang live, on the subway, while it was moving; she also jumped around, ran, and got on top of a taxi...while still SINGING and sounding great!!!

Lady Coocoo performs. Everybody I know, whether they like her or not, agree that she needs serious counseling!!! How messed up in the head do you have to be to wear the type of outfits she does? I mean, she's gorgeous, but UGH!!! I have no words to express myself right now!

Beyoncé's performance didn't amaze me. I don't wanna sound mean, I know she's very talented. As my friend said, it was just her on her usual outfit (what looks like a bathing suit, shoulder paths, and a bunch of girls to dance with her. Her voice is breath-taking, but I guess we're getting bored with her performances.

But then when she gave her speech time to Taylor Swift, it reminded me again that she is a lady. That was so touching!

The craziest thing of the night wasn't Kanye's idiotic 'appearance'. It was Pink's extremely interesting performance. She was upside-down and still singing. Now, that's talent!!! I'm still excited lol

When I saw Jack Black praying to the devil, I wanted to trhow up. HE IS A DISGUSTING LOSER WHO NOBODY CARES ABOUT!!! If someone could remind him of that, maybe he would stop doing stupid things all the time. May God forgive him.

On a funnier note, since I missed the red carpet too, I found out way after that Pink and Shakira wore the same dress. I don't care if people criticize them, they both rocked it and looked beautiful. Remember they have completely diffent styles.

Im sure everybody liked Jay-Z and Alicia Keys' turn to entertain us. I'm going to go ahead and say I am in love with Alicia Keys for obvious reasons lol (not seriously in love, but you get the idea). The song was hot and they did great overall.

But please explain to me, what on earth was Lil' Mama doing on stage??? Why would they allow her to get on? That makes three clueless idiots in one show...

I don't have a gossip blog, but I needed to release all I had inside from the show. If I didn't comment about something that did happen last night, it's just because I don't care lol. I WANTED CUDI TO WIN 'BEST NEW ARTIST' but whatever, the crazy one won.

Mexican Dinner, again = ]

This time we went to Cancun, not the city of course, but the restaurant lol. We realized that it has to be linked to another Mexican restaurant we're somewhat familiar with. Anyway, it was a quick experience, but it was comfortable. The place is in Johnston, but kind of far from our area lol.

Just like at El Tapatio, they bring us nachos and sauce to start with. Marco tricked me into thinking it wasn't spicy.

But I was brave enough to eat it. Go me!!!

New England Weather

Summer? Really? Where?? Not here in Rhode Island, that's for sure. We've been having rain since forever now. Although I'm thankful for whatever the weather is, given the fact that I'm still alive, it's kind of weird that the sun hasn't come out in the past few days and it just keeps raining and raining. I really don't have a problem with this type of weather, but I have to come to work when all I really want is to stay in bed all day.
It reminds me of an episode of The King of Queens, when Arthur had to move upstairs because it was too cold in the basement. Doug was annoyed by this and looking out the window says:

"...whatever happened to global warming? there were such high hopes for that..."

Im not asking for global warming, just a little sun to make this at least look like summer. Maybe, God? = ]

No more workout for me today. Although I exercised this morning, I was planning on working out a little more to kill some time. I'll let the time live, and invest it in some writing. I am determined to actually finishing all the writing I started a while back. Exciting !!

Ok. First of, this is a very old picture. I chose it because that's exactly what I've been doing lately, slacking. There's so many already-started projects that I have just pushed aside. Songs that I started writing and forgot about. Studio time that I am allowed to, and don't use, etc.

I'm really excited about all these plans, that I don't even know how to start. My friend Edwin,already a known recording artist, is coming from PR next month and we had already talked about a song together. I haven't really finish writing it, there's no beat for it, and I don't really know how I wanna divide the verses between me and him. Not sure if I want him to be in the Spanish version, or just do a mix all at once. But anyway, he's only coming for like 5 days, and he's already scheduled to perform at a bunch of places.

My father's friend has a really cool studio with like everything! lol. He's somewhat waiting for me to either send him a demo and/or go record while he engineers. Problem is, he's all the way in NY. My dad just reminded me this morning 'cause I had forgotten all about that offer haha. It would be cool going over there and recording with Edwin, but again...very few days, too many engagements. And also, no beat yet hahaha.

The local studio I go to here always has its doors open for me, yayyy! The guys likes it when I record there and it's nice when people who know music enjoy yours ;) The problem is our schedule. My producer and I work at completely different places and while I have all my evenings off, he works at night kind of often. Here's a picture of him:

Last night our church celebrated Good Friday service. It is traditional to preach on Jesus' 7 last sayings. Seven people from the congregation each get one, use the verse from the bible that talks about it, then they elaborate on it. Makes sense?

This is my point of view on the 7 words; I kind of copied a little of what they said, word by word:

Luke 23:34
Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."

-We can be quick to shut someone out of our life because of something they have done to us. Sometimes we can say 'I forgive but I don't forget.' But how many times do we stop to think everything that Jesus went through when he was on earth? He was still able to forgive everybody, and ask the Lord to forgive them. These people didn't know who He really was. The ones that hurt Him didn't believe he was the Savior.
How many times do we keep bitterness inside our hearts by not forgiving something that someone has done to us? Nothing we can possibly live on earth compares to what Jesus went through. He came here to heal, forgive, feed, save, give life to the death, and give us eternal life. His own people paid him back by giving Him death. Jesus still forgave them!

Luke 23:43
Jesus answered him, "Truly I tell you, today will be with me in paradise."

Even when crucified, Jesus didn't abandon His merciful ways. He granted the thief eternal life, because this man recognized and believed that the man standing next to him was the Son of God, the only way to the Lord.

John 19:27
When Jesus saw his mother standing there, and the disciple whom he loved standing nearby, he said to her, "Woman, here is your son," and to the disciple, "Here is your mother."

These words really touched me. It shows the selflessness Jesus had. He was slowly dying, pouring blood through different holes they made on his body. People all around Him were making fun of Him shouting that He should be able to save Himself from the death and walk down from the cross. None of this stopped Him from worrying about the woman that gave Him human birth. He cared so much for her that even on his darkest hours, He needed to assure her wellbeing. He saw the disciple for whom He had great love, and gave him Mary, Jesus' mother, for him to look after. He knew that she would be fine. The disciple took her to his home.

Matthew 27:46
About three in the afternoon Jesus cried out in a loud voice, "Eli, Eli, lema sabachtani?" (which means "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

Jesus couldn't back down at this point. He couldn't change His mind now, because He knew the prophecy had to come true. He came to earth as a human being, therefore even being the Son of God, He felt pain. Such pain was so big that He asked the Lord if He had forgotten about His only Son. We might say 'of course He didn't forget about Jesus', but it was a great amount of pain that He was feeling.

John 19:28
Later, knowing that everything had now been finished, and so that Scripture would be fulfilled, Jesus said, "I am thirsty."

Jesus' journey didn't start in the cross. He had to walk miles carrying His own cross on His back. He had to go uphill, sweating, hurting, struggling. If we think about it, as lazy as we have become with the years, we would probably die before getting to the top of the mountain. Jesus' body got weaker by the minute, but He couldn't die there. The prophecy had to be fulfilled. He had to complete His journey to give us Salvation.

John 19:30
When He had received the drink, Jesus said, "It is finished." With that, He bowed his head and gave up His spirit.

Jesus had lost all His strength. He knew that what He had come to earth to do was done. His journey as a human had ended. I can only imagine how things would be if these days we all had to be punished like this every time we sinned. This is how great God's love for us is!

Luke 23:46
Jesus called out with a loud voice, "Father, into your hands I commit my spirit." When He had said this, He breathed His last.

The punishment our Savior received was commonly given to criminals in those days. But before Jesus died things happened. The sun stopped shining and the curtain of the temple was torn. The fact that none of this had happened before, with any other person that had been crucified, proved to many that this man was with no doubt the Son of God. Some people had been changing their minds sine they saw Jesus walk into the city. Non believers were feeling guilty because they had doubted Jesus. Others still didn't agree. Not until He had completely died and His spirit was lifted. But after these phenomenon had occurred they understood who they had been treating like a criminal and impostor the whole time.

Eggs? Bunnies? I don't get it. I really don't see the connection between the death of our Lord Jesus, to save us, and hunting for candy laid by a bunny. Don't get me wrong, I think it's cute. But how is it related to the real meaning of Easter? Why not celebrate the bunny on a different ocation?

I was talking to my sister the other day and she was telling me that one day, she was talking to our Youth Pastor about the bunny. My sister went on to tell her that it all comes from the day Jesus got out of the tomb. There was a rabbit around that saw Him, and was so surprised that he laid colored eggs! lol (of course I know this is not true...it's only a joke)

When I was growing up, the holy week was about being grateful with the Lord's gift. We would have plays in church about Jesus' last days on earth. We even have traditional meals we eat during this week specially. We would go on a little relaxing vacation, spend time with family, etc. All this without forgetting what we really celebrate this time of the year.

When the Lord blesses me with children, I've decided that I won't celebrate Easter with them the same way is popular in the US. I don't really mind if in school they get candy and the whole deal. But at my house, I'll make sure we celebrate that Jesus Christ died for us, and was risen on the third day, went up to heaven but not before giving us the Holy Spirit to be with us until the end of the world. Nothing bunny related.

God is good, all the time. Remember that!

Friday the 20th:

We drove around before leaving so we ended up taking off at 7:30pm (1 hr later than planned). At the pace I was driving we were about to get there quick, but the other car got a flat tire, so we did some waiting, slow driving, locating, donut air filling, then when we got to the city we stopped at a tire shop, placed everybody in the right car & split. Marco, Bryant & I went to some club to see my cousin 'perform'. Long story short, I was upset. I don't go clubbing so I felt uncomfortable. I kept being left alone in the VIP area, but there were so many weird people around me. My cousins were trying to take care of me & Marco was trying to cheer me up. I danced with Skeet after I had the pepsi Marco gave me. I started to be in a somewhat better mood. Then my sister texted me and wanted me to pick her up 'cause she was upset as well. Since the rest of the people I was with wanted to go to the studio, I had nobody to guide me to get my sister. My cousin told one of his boys to do so, but he was heated cause he didn't wanna leave the club.I waited outside the place for like 20 minutes for someone to come with me, blah blah blah...

I'm getting mad while typing now. After I picked up my sister, I realized I was only 2 minutes away from her. After we got her, we went to my aunt's house where my other cousin was sleeping. That was a big problem...he never answered the phone or the door. And there we were, double parked outside the building, cold, tired, sleepy, disappointed...everything! We waited outside until after 5am. Then Marco, Bryant & my cousin showed up and we finally got upstairs. I was dead, man! We all got ready for bed and my cousin decided to make some tostones con queso frito. My sister & I fell asleep for a little bit and by the time we woke up, the boys had already eaten most of the food. I didn't care because I just wanted to sleep. I did eat a few tostones though. Then I finally layed in bed and fell asleep until the next morning.

Saturday the 21st

We got up and got ready, went out to eat, then picked up the other car. We went to Soho and split, boys one way, girls the other. The girls were hanging out with my friend Aldo. Both groups met one time, only to agree on staying separate. They kept the cars and we took the train to 181st or something. On out way up we took pictures, bought water, pastelitos, more clothes and stuff, and walked around a bunch. The boys picked us up after and we went home to change. After getting ready everybody was starving. We went back to Manhattan (from the Bronx) to pick up the other people. We drove around some more, then got to 42nd and walked a lot! We kept looking for a place to eat. Real late at night we found a dumb pizza place, run by racist people, very noisy and a bit small, but the pizza was banging. I had a burger. We got out and split once again. We drove abck to the Bronx and went to sleep quicker than the night before.

Sunday the 22nd

We were supposed to take off at 11 to make it back home on time for church, but we didn't. We hesitated and bummed around the house, waitied for the other crew to come pick up their camera and stuff. We decided to go eat together, but as always, nobody agreed on what to eat and we ended up eating at different restaurants. We went to a Spanish place and all of us had some banging mangú con salami, queso, cebolla, and natural juice. Mannnnnnnn! that was some good stuff! Then we went next door and my sister and I got some Dominican cake =D
The other group tried to go to the Statue of Liberty, but I just found out they didn't get to, cause it was closed lol. We were going home around 3, but we got a flat tire. We spent over 3 hours trying to fix the situation. We finally headed home at 7:30. Made it to RI in 2 hours. Dropped off Dalesca & Bryant home, (not the same place), then went to Marco's house & stayed there.

While we had the problem with the tire I was already planning our next trip. April.

But anyway, I'm having trouble writing. Most of it is due to the 'flow' of the song lol; that, and me not remembering the lyrics hahahaha. I had to bring the CD to work to play it over and over again until I get something good. Let's see what happens.

I found out I can go to a certain studio to record. I had forgotten all about it, but my cousin told me I can go whenever. Best part of the situation? it's FREE! I want to get at least one song done this week = ]

New Projects

I don't want to mention any names, but there's this guy that sings and raps, whose music my boyfriend likes & I'm starting to not hate lol. There's something I really like about him: the way his voice goes with mine hehe. I told my boyfriend last night that it is really easy for a female to acompany him on his songs. And as confident and creative my boyfriend is, it hit him right away that he's going to remake one of the dude's beats and I'm gonna write to it. I will keep his 1st verse, then it will be me and him on the chorus. I am super excited! I hope we can get this done as soon as possible so I can show everyone.

There's this other dude...pretty much the same details above...but I'll tell you about it later. Don't want to get over excited just yet lol.

New Found Love

So I love to sing, like to write and now my boyfriend has been encouraging me to make my own beats. Everytime I saw him make one I'd be lost, thinking that learning Japanese was easier. A few days ago he helped me start one, with my ideas, so now I'm claiming it as mine =P

It's not even half way done yet, but the few people that have heard it really liked it. My (future) lawyer told his class that I will be famous one day. It feels great to have people believe in you and support you from the beginning. I have to say, my boyfriend was the one who got me into this. I always saw/heard of him work with other people, but never thought I'd be working with him myself. He's going to teach me how to make my own music, which is very brave of him lol.

I have a few ideas for other beats, but I wanna concentrate on the one I started. I love the melody and that's how it all started. I got it stuck in my head, but couldn't record it to remember it later...then the next morning I couldn't remember it at all. Then later on during the day it hit me = ] So I went home and saved it on the laptop, then went to his house and he started the beat. I fell in love. I was sitting there feeling all smart and thinking I knew what I was doing.

My lawyer came to see me today (he's a teacher at the school I work at) about an email I had sent him during vacation. I kind of new he doesn't check his inbox too often, and that's exactly what he told me. He said to go see him upstairs whenever I had a question, which is fine with me hahaha. But he answered my question and now I know it's time to work. I've been slacking a lot, it's not even funny. Hopefully I get a lot accomplished by the end of this month. Stay tuned !

Not My Window !

There was an(other) hour delay for kids in Providence, and I still had to be at work at regular time. I don't really mind because since I've been going to sleep [really] early lately - and by lately I mean the last 2 nights lol - I am a lot more rested and able to get up with enough time to get ready and make it to work on time ! lol

The machine called me before 6 again, to tell me about the delay, which my sister had mentioned to me yesterday. So there I am, not able to go back to sleep. The good thing is: I am not in a bad mood. I go upstairs to do my hair, but when I look in the mirror I realize that it looks fine as is ! hahaha no, I'm not being conceited.

So now I have even more time to spare before heading to work. I make myself some lemon water to start the day (my mom's idea)and I drink it kind of against my will lol. I make some breakfast for my boyfriend and I (no, we don't live together), nothing major, some sandwiches lol. I go back downstairs and finish getting ready for work. We have 'breakfast' and he goes outside to warm up the car. A few minutes later I go outside as well and there's ice everywhere. My car is covered with it! It's hard to open the doors and when I'm finally inside, I put my window down to try to wipe the ice off of it, and clean the windshield with the little black brush. What happens next the picture above can clearly explain. I took it after I put my window down. Crazy, huh? lol It's funny because it wasn't even that cold; well, maybe it was, but there's definitely been colder days here in RI.

Now I'm at work and my co-worker decided to take the day off! I am going to kill her! It was quiet for a while because the kids are just starting to come in. I was thinking of taking a half day off, but maybe no. I don't wanna go home and nap (which is what I'd do if I went home early), because I wanna be very sleepy when I go to bed tonight =D

IF YOUR FAITH IS OFF

We walk by faith, not by sight

When my son Karl was about eight years old, I introduced him to the game
of golf. I gave him a little starter set of clubs and took him out to
the course with me. Karl would tee up his ball and whale away at it with
his mightiest swing. Usually he sprayed the ball all over the place. But
since he could only hit it 60 or 70 yards at best, his direction could
be off by 20 degrees and his ball would still be in the fairway.

As he grew up and got a bigger set of clubs, Karl was able to drive the
ball off the tee 150 yards and farther. But if his drive was still 20
degrees off target, his ball no longer stayed in the fairway; it usually
went into the rough. Accuracy is even more important for golfers who can
blast a golf ball 200 to 250 yards off the tee. The same 20-degree
deviation which allowed little Karl's short drive to remain in the
fairway will send a longer drive soaring out of bounds.

This simple illustration pictures an important aspect of the life of
faith: Your Christian walk is the direct result of what you believe
about God and yourself. If your faith is off, your walk will be off. If
your walk is off, you can be sure it's because your faith is off. As a
new Christian, you needed some time to learn how to "hit the ball
straight" in your belief system. You could be off 20 degrees in what you
believed and still be on the fairway because you were still growing and
had a lot to learn. But the longer you persist in a faulty belief
system, the less fulfilling and productive your daily walk of faith will
be. As you grow older you will find yourself stumbling through the rough
or out of bounds spiritually if the course you have set for your life
doesn't agree with Scripture.

It all started with a phone call. The school department machine woke me up at 5:52am to 'inform' me about 1 hour delay for Providence students. It doesn't apply to me because I have to be at work at regular time anyway so... But the thing is I didn't go back to sleep, so I prayed. I talked to God a bit about everything and somehow I rememberd that my it had snowed badly in the last few weeks, and I hadn't washed my car. Bare with me, this is going somewhere.

I felt embarrassed that I was so lazy to wash my car and now I had to show up to work in a very dirty car lol. I thought of asking my father to drop me off and keep my car for the day. But then I asked God 'please send us a litle rain so that my car would get washed up a little'. Then I thought, 'well, if He doesn't let it rain, that's what I get for being lazy' But when I went upstairs and checked outside, IT HAD RAINED ! I looked up and thanked the Lord for answering my prayer and couldn't wipe the smile off my face. Then the more I thought about it, the happier I got. I figured that it was either one of 2 things: either He let it rain after I prayed, meaning He answered my prayer RIGHT AWAY! or He actually let it rain before I prayed, cause He knew I was going to ask for that. I had checked before thinking that the school delay was due to snow, but I didn't see anything outside (it was still dark), so I can't really tell the order in which my prayer was answered. However it happend, I'm blessed! Seriously, how awesome is our God? Little things like this make me love Him even more. But again, also big things have the same effect. I can't stop loving Him!

Some people complain too much when it rains, because it can ruin so many things. Sometimes I am one of them, but I quickly remind myself that God knows what He's doing and how He's doing things. We just have to realize that there's people that pray for rain because they NEED it.

I didn't get a hippo for Chrisrmas, but I got a lot of cool presents = ] Don't forget about the real meaning of CHRISTmas, that wouldnt be cool. Hope buying presents wasn't the main thing this season. Enjoy your time with the family and don't go crazy spending all that money, cause at the end presents can break, but love will stay until the end.

If you haven't seen the movie "Bruce Almighty", starring Jim Carrey, I suggest you go rent a DVD.

I vividly remember a scene from the movie was the attempt of the main character to be God. Trying to answer all the prayers and so tired doing so, just said Yes to every prayer request and messed up the lives of many.

ONLY GOD IS GOD

The serpent said . . . "you will be like God, knowing good and evil"

Adam was the first to be tempted by the notion that he could "be like God" (Genesis 3:5), which is the essence of the self-centered worldview that Satan promotes. Millions have been seduced by Satan into believing that they are God. The New Age Movement is promoting this lie on a grand and international scale.

However, the biblical account of creation clearly establishes that only God the Creator is truly God. Adam and his ancestors are not gods; we are created beings which cannot exist apart from God. The diabolical idea that man is his own god is the primary link in the chain of spiritual bondage to the kingdom of darkness.

The problem with man's attempt at being his own god is that he was never designed to occupy that role. He lacks the necessary attributes to determine his own destiny. Even sinless, spiritually alive Adam in the Garden of Eden before the Fall wasn't equipped to be his own god. Contrary to what the New Agers tell us, the potential to be a god never was in you, isn't in you now, and never will be in you. Being God is God's capacity alone.

If you desire to live in freedom from the bondage of the world, the flesh and the devil, this primary link in the chain must be renounced. The self-centered worldview which Satan and his emissaries are promoting must be replaced by the perspective that Jesus introduced to His disciples in the wake of Peter's self-preserving rebuke in Matthew 16: "If anyone wishes to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow Me. For whoever wishes to save his life shall lose it; but whoever loses his life for My sake shall find it" (verses 24, 25). In the next several days, we will examine the view from the cross.

Prayer:

Father, forgive me for the occasions when I have usurped Your place in my life. You are my Lord and my God.

That's the view from my driveway = ]. Today has been a nice day. I feel very rested, although i still need to finish cleaning my room. But my boyfriend ordered pizza (i ordered, he paid) and we're going to watch movies and eat. He's just waiting for me to finish this post lol.

'The weather outside is weather'

Providence, RI-
There's no school tomorrow,Friday. Something about a potential snow storm and all. The great thing is I still get paid. I'm thankful for working for the school department. It was Tom Brady's idea to cancel classes tomorrow. Really, that's our superintendent's name, I'm not talking about the guy from the Patriots. Anyway, I'm not sure how I feel about a lot of snow for tomorrow and Saturday. We're expecting over 12 inches. Snow is good the first 2 days, but then it gets all ugly and dirty lol. I might wanna go shopping tomorrow, but it all depends on how bad it is outside. But then I might wanna stay home alllllllll day, sleeping and watching tv and all = ]

I hate being late for work...they make the hugest deal out if it, wow! I don't go crying to the supervisors when I have to stay here way past 3:30 doing work... That's the type of things I gotta put up with when the people around me have no knowledge of the love of God, or at least act that way.

Anyway, I'm still in (physical) pain, but I get to go home and rest until practice later. Church's music group-practice that is = ]. Then my boyfriend gets out of work (kind of late, though), but a little is better than nothing, right?
